Earthway is a martial institution specializing in the Japanese warrior arts and sciences (koryu budo) as taught by 34th Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi of the Bujinkan Dojo in Noda City Japan, focusing on traditional as well as modern applications.
Our training method, Budo Taijutsu (warrior body art) is an ancient and well tested system of warrior disciplines developed over 1500 years ago for the exclusive use of the aristocratic warrior class and handed down by 9 historical Japanese family lineages.
The warrior lineages of the Bujinkan do not rely on strength, speed or size; but use physics, movement, psychology and strategy to overcome adversity. These are authentic warrior arts, direct from the battlefield. Pure and unadulterated, not bound by the artificial rules of the sport martial arts, Budo Taijutsu is as effective today as it was centuries ago on the battlefields of Japan .
Learn methods for dealing with:
- grappling, throwing, choking and joint locking
- striking, kicking, and punching
- stick, blade, cord, and projectile weapons
Beyond this basic training is a collection of optional advanced courses including:
- emergency medical skills ( EMS )
- survival in hostile environments
- security protection for dignitaries
- law enforcement specialties
- intelligence gathering systems
- classical Japanese weapons
The Dojo is located in Coal City Illinois. For information on training contact Markk Bush at info@earthwayjourney.com.
